Structure

Incorporated in 1959, the City of Windcrest is governed by 5 members of the City Council and the Mayor. They are elected citywide to a two-year term with no term limits. City Council meetings are public and held the third Monday of every month. The City Council members, officers, and the mayor are always active, upstanding citizens with backgrounds in selfless public service and smart business. 

Our city manager form of government is efficient and committed to working with businesses to keep taxes low and the permitting process fast. The city government considers business interests a high priority and seeks to facilitate and encourage good business practices whenever possible.  

Police Department

The Windcrest Police Department is known for its dedication to duty in protecting the citizens and property of Windcrest and boldly enforcing local, state, and federal laws. They are a highly trained group of professionals whose vigilant presence keeps peace in Windcrest and ensures the security of businesses. The Windcrest Police Department develops strong relationships with local businesses and is always ready whenever needed.  

Fire Department

Similarly, the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department has established a 50-year legacy of fast responses and brave firefighters. Their fleet includes two fully-furnished engines. Even as volunteers, the firefighters are a team dedicated to the community’s safety to the point of giving their lives.  

Public Works

Additionally, Windcrest has a Public Works Department with the important responsibility of maintaining the city’s streets, green spaces, and municipal facilities as well as ensuring street and traffic lights are working properly.
